ANSI ASC A300 Committee The mission of the ANSI ASC A300 is "To develop and promote consensus standards based on current research and sound practice for writing specifications to manage trees and shrubs." The primary responsibility of the ASC A300 is to establish and update standard practice for tree, shrub, and other woody plant maintenance. Members:
The Audit Committee is responsible for overseeing (a) the preparation of the Society's annual financial statements by its outside auditors, (b) the Society's internal financial Controls, and (c) the preparation of the Society's annual tax return. The committee meets with an auditor in early November and reports the Balance Sheet to the membership during the Annual Conference and in the ASCA Newsletter. Members:
The Consulting Academy Committee is charged with monitoring, reviewing, updating and improving the ASCA Consulting Academy as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, curriculum review with instructors and subject matter experts, suggestions for managing costs, analyzing optimal group size, acquiring and training new coaches and instructors (succession planning), reviewing attendee surveys, scanning the environment for best practices of similar programs, etc. all to best meet the training needs of consulting arborists in line with ASCA's Strategic Plan. The Editorial Review Committee is responsible for planning themes, curating content, and selecting and reviewing articles for ASCA's member publication, The Arboricultural Consultant. Members: Board Liaison: Nick Martin, RCA #552 Marketing Committee The Marketing Committee operates as an advisory body to ASCA's association management company's (AMC) marketing team. The committee's role is to extend guidance and to collaborate on marketing strategies and tools, to develop and hone innovative ideas, and to provide feedback to the AMC's marketing team. The committee informs and provides recommendations for an annual marketing plan and ensures ongoing, fluid (or consistent), high-quality marketing in accordance with ASCA's Strategic Plan. The Marketing Committee focuses on brand awareness and promotion of the society through clear articulation of the value of ASCA and its members through a strategic marketing approach for targeted audiences. The Membership Committee works to enhance, direct, implement, and respond to member issues, benefits, retention, recruitment, awards, and membership structure. The committee meets at least once per month and provides recommendations, nominations, and guidance to the ASCA Board on membership issues in a written format. Members:

The Program Planning Committee provides vision and oversight, ensuring that all programming, including the Annual Conference, Webinars, Academy, and TPAQ are aligned with the mission, goals, and core values of ASCA. The Sustainable Urban Forest Coalition's responsibility is to represent ASCA at the SUFC by attending phone or online meetings, attending the SUFC annual meeting and Capitol Hill Day, providing the ASCA Board of Directors with updates and requests for action, and providing the Consulting Arborists perspective and leadership for the SUFC discussions and initiative. The TPAQ Advisory Committee ensures the industry value and relevancy, currency, and alignment of the certificate program's purpose, scope of learning outcomes, curriculum content, design and delivery methods, and assessment content. The committee is also responsible for monitoring and revising, as needed, and approving the Certificate Program Instructional Design Plan and its related components as well as monitoring the need for and approving substantive changes to the course curriculum and assessments. The committee approves the examinations, pass/fail standards, and other essential certificate decisions based upon its own determination or upon recommendations from ASCA staff. Members:
A TPAQ Certificate Program Oversight Committee (OC) of subject matter experts (SMEs) knowledgeable in tree and plant appraisal established to develop learning outcomes for TPAQ through a qualitative assessment. This qualitative assessment serves as the basis for a comprehensive survey to stakeholders to develop learning outcomes and the assessment method used to measure learner attainment of intended learning outcomes. Members: TPAQ Appeals and Complaints Sub-Committee The charge of the Appeals and Complaints Sub-Committee is to make determinations on appeals and complaints submitted by TPAQ certificate program applicants or certificate holders.
