TPAQ Instructors

Only ASCA approved instructors are eligible to teach the program. ASCA promotes all eligible instructors listed below, and each instructor works independently with hosting organizations to negotiate their compensation. 

Instructor Qualifications & Eligibility:

To become one of ASCA's approved instructors, applicants must:

  • Be an RCA in good standing.
  • Pass TPAQ with a 90% minimum score – to confirm exam score contact ASCA Headquarters.
  • Submit a resume showing at least 7 years of experience appraising trees.
  • Submit three example appraisal reports as prescribed by ASCA reporting protocols.
  • Be willing to teach the TPAQ program without bias to any particular methodology.
  • Be willing and able to provide instruction for two programs annually.
  • Demonstrate speaking experience to various audience groups.
  • Be willing to sign and abide by confidentiality agreements.
  • Be willing to complete a Conflict of Interest form and disclose any possible conflicts of interest immediately.

*Applicants with prior teaching experience will receive priority.
