Professional Practice Guidelines for Consulting Arborists
Based on ASCA’s Guide to a Professional Consulting Practice and Standards of Professional Practice, this session explores setting up a consulting practice, the role of Consulting Arborists, and how consultants should perform their duties.

This session will introduce you to the field of forensic science, how it applies to arboricultural and environmental consulting, what tools to use, how to properly and lawfully conduct an arboriculture forensic investigation, and how to analyze data from collected evidence.

This is your opportunity to ask questions about being a Consulting Arborist, the material being presented, developing a consulting practice, and other topics important to you.

Thursday, February 21

8:30 am–12:30 pm

Report Writing
This session focuses on the writing skills necessary for successfully preparing reports that meet ASCA's report-writing requirements. It defines the proper structural elements for creating a booklet-style report and the components required to develop written reports that are readable, usable, and well substantiated.

The Consultant’s Role in Contentious Situations
This session introduces you to the various formats of the dispute resolution process and the consultant’s role as an expert in mediation, arbitration, and litigation. The session also provides you with an in-depth study of the expert’s role in the discovery process. 

Friday, February 22

Conferences With the Coaches

During this time, you will have a 30-minute one-on-one meeting with your coach to discuss questions you may have about material covered during the Academy, as well as to review your pre-Academy report and receive feedback on areas for improvement.
