Joining the Board as new directors are Christian Hughes, RCA #4993 and Richard Peterika, RCA #641, along with current directors Nicholas Martin, RCA #552, Kay Sicheneder, RCA #668, and Philip van Wassenaer, RCA #678.

Outgoing president, Patrick Anderson, RCA #475, was thanked during the meeting for his leadership, guidance and service to the Society.

The new board will continue the execution of a three-year strategic plan focused on Knowledge, Service, Marketing and Growth. 

“It’s truly a privilege to serve as ASCA’s 2023 president. The Board of Directors will continue to execute our Society’s strategic plan and live ASCA’s vision. We will continue to improve, and create, the value ASCA brings to our members and the profession,” said the newly-inducted 2023 ASCA President Patrick Anderson, RCA #475.

He will be joined by President-Elect Jeff Ling, RCA #337, Immediate Past President Micah Pace, RCA #607, and Secretary/Treasurer Mike LaMana, RCA #435. Joining the Board as a new director is Nicholas Martin, RCA #552, along with current directors Robert "RJ" Laverne, RCA #403, Ron Matranga, RCA #488, Kay Sicheneder, RCA #668, and Philip van Wassenaer, RCA #678.

“I am honored to be ASCA’s 2021 president. I appreciate the opportunity to represent the finest organization for consulting arborists, and to share my vision and focus for the upcoming year,” 2021 ASCA President Jeremy Chancey, RCA #646, said.

He will be joined by President-Elect Micah Pace, RCA #607, Past President Richard Adkins, RCA #573, and Secretary/Treasurer Patrick Anderson, RCA #475. Joining the board as directors are Robert “RJ” Laverne, Ph.D., RCA #403, Jeff Ling, RCA #337, Ron Matranga, RCA #488, Kay Sicheneder, RCA #668, and Philip van Wassenaer, RCA #678.

In his remarks, Chancey thanked outgoing president John Leffingwell, RCA #442, for his seven years of leadership and service to the society.

During his closing remarks at the Annual Membership Meeting, Chancey shared his vision for 2021, sharing several initiatives he intends to lead. These initiatives include a proposed virtual town hall for members to share their ideas and provide feedback to the board; expanding the current ad hoc conference program planning committee to a broader program committee; and forming an ad hoc membership committee.

The board will also introduce theUsing Your Expertise for Goodproject, a way for members to use their expertise within ASCA, their local communities, and other organizations.

“I believe that as our professional organization becomes more focused on how we are able to give back, we only serve to strengthen our position as experts and our organization’s reputation for excellence and distinction,” Chancey said.
