Lisa Smith, RCA #464, an ASCA member for 20 years, is a Registered Consulting Arborist®, Board Certified Master Arborist, Municipal Specialist, an instructor for the ISA Tree Risk Assessor Qualified course and an instructor for the ASCA Tree and Plant Appraiser Qualified program. Ms. Smith is the owner of The Tree Resource, a southern California tree-consulting firm, providing all aspects of tree management and preservation. As a Past President of the WCISA (Western Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture) she enjoys being involved in developing policy, strategy, industry best management practices and providing guidance on developing management plans for urban canopy. She began almost thirty years ago, working for one the nation's largest tree contractors, providing arboriculture programs for projects throughout California, working in many arenas such as installation, large-scale maintenance, construction management guidelines, IPM (Integrated Pest Management), pruning guidelines, damage appraisal, and risk management as a Qualified Tree Risk Assessor. Additionally, as an instructor for the UCLA Extension Landscape Architecture program, Ms. Smith enjoys providing educational opportunities for industry professionals and affiliate green groups.
