Q: Large red oak that has three trunks has water sitting in the cleft they form. Can I remedy this?

A: I typically would not worry about this. I am more concerned if there is decay where the three trunks come together or if there is a weak attachment point that may break out. Over time, with or without water, this area may become a problem. I would recommend monitoring the area to make sure it doesn't get worse.
